Action Steps
1. SPREAD THE WORD. Awareness is essential to the fight of human trafficking. Tell friends, family, classmates and co-workers about the problem of human trafficking. Find statistics, facts or news then post it on your personal Facebook or Twitter. Post Restore One’s webpage on your website, Facebook, Twitter or personal blog page.
2. BECOME A PARTNER. Restore One is blessed by your financial partnership. Every dollar given to Restore One benefits the fight against human trafficking and brings us one step closer to opening a safe house. To donate visit Here.
3. PRAY. Prayer is powerful and it is our strongest weapon in the fight to end human trafficking. Behind the scenes of human trafficking there are strong evil forces at work, but do not under estimate the influence your prayers have.
“The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” James 5:16
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12 Download a copy of Salvation Army’s Prayer Guide for Human Trafficking. Visit the Get Involved page to learn more about our prayer teams.
4. VOLUNTEER. Visit the Get Involved page to volunteer with Restore One.
5. USE YOUR TALENT. Every abolitionist has unique talents, use yours today! Paint a picture and display it publicly, write a blog or a Facebook note, design t-shirt or logo, use a sporting event to increase awareness and raise funds, speak publicly, write a song or talk to someone about human trafficking; create a short video and load it on YouTube, Vimeo, or Facebook. Find your talent and use it to fight injustice.
6. INTERNSHIP or EMPLOYMENT. Restore One actively seeks individuals from various fields of study who are passionate about fighting human trafficking. For more information contact [email protected]
7. BUY FAIR TRADE. Support the anti-trafficking movement by buying goods that are produced without any slavery involved. To learn more about fair trade visit Fair Trade USA. To track how many slaves work for you, check out Slavery Footprint
8. HOST AN EVENT. Organize an anti-trafficking awareness training, campaign, walk, fundraiser or movie showing at your local school, church or public facility. Contact Restore One to come speak at your next anti-trafficking event.
9. REACH THE YOUTH. Our youth are our future, but sadly thousands of America’s youth are victims of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Take time to mentor and disciple your local youth through after school programs, churches, or non-profit organizations.
10. EDUCATION. Education is power and is essential for abolitionists. You can learn more about human trafficking through reading online material, books and watching movies.
