LINDA ROYSTER

Linda, a native of North Carolina, completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC while also working with adolescent boys and girls at a local mental health hospital. In 2008, she transitioned to Seattle, WA to attend The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology Graduate School (TSS), which is where she graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology degree in 2011. After graduation, she was privileged to join the teaching staff at TSS as a Practicum Facilitator for two years. While there, Linda was offered an equally privileged opportunity to continue her growth and learning at The Allender Center for Trauma and Abuse as an Extern and Fellow through training leaders to be more competent in addressing trauma through narrative exploration. She is a returning lead facilitator at Recovery Week, a six day program where women undergo intensive group and 1:1 engagement of their stories of trauma.

As far back as 2003, her interest in engaging stories of harm began to grow as she facilitated racially and socioeconomically diverse support groups for survivors of childhood abuse and now, as Director of Anchor House, Linda's commitment to this work deepens as she, and others, experience the Gospel in the telling and holding of stories.
