Anna SMITH

Anna, a Greenville, North Carolina native, graduated from East Carolina University School of Social Work and Religious Studies in 2011. She is a Master of Social Work Candidate for May 2016 and a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher.

Throughout college, Anna served in youth ministry with her husband, Chris, learning valuable leadership skills. It was during that time that Anna applied for an internship at a restoration house for girls who’d been sexually trafficked. After her internship, Anna felt the call upon her life to fully dedicate her time and talents to helping survivors heal.

Following her strong passion to see survivors of trafficking experience freedom, she and Chris worked for another nonprofit and volunteered.

Finally in 2012, the cry of Anna and Chris’s hearts became a reality with the founding of Restore One. Since founding Restore One, Anna works diligently on their chief project, The Anchor House. Anna is a member of the Pitt County Rapid Response Team and served a stent as Team Chair in 2013.

Anna is a strong advocate for all survivors, and she has a resilient passion to expose the truths of sexual abuse and trafficking is tangible. Working through her own story of trauma and sexual trafficking, she understands that recovery is a painful yet beautiful journey. Anna’s heart is to use her gifts and story to strengthen and stand in freedom with others.

Aside from her work at Restore One,  Anna enjoys throwing pottery, writing and teaching yoga. She also loves to adventure outdoors with her husband, Chris, and play with their dogs Titus, Barnabas, and Moses.
